Hi,
I have used L2tpv3 for transporting vlans over WAN with tags Intact , my
media type was ATM.
The only thing required is IP connectivity between two routers and we have
to make l2tpv3 tunnels between them.
The routers used in testing lab where 7200s with 12.4.x provider image and
7500 with RSP 4 and VIP 4-50 again having IOS image of 12.4.x provider
image.
I think it also works with 12.0 S train , haven't tested it though.
Cheers
Vishal

There is allready a L2TP tunnel here from a modem that is connected to R1
and R2... They are already terminating on R100 wich are the LNS router...
But what if I used GRE tunnels from the R1 to R100 and from R100 to R2

this combination might help
L2TPv3
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios124/124cg/hwan_c
/hl2tpv3.htm#wp1042952
and
L2 tunneling across an SP switched network

nel.htm#wp1005050
haven't tried that myself though
