Did you advertise the routes into eigrp before summerizing?

I am using the IEWB VER3.0. Doing LAB-2 TASK-4.6.
It requires to do a " ip summary-address eigrp ..." command under a ethernet
sub-interface.
The problem i face is that , I am not able to see the route I am
summarising in the routing table of other routers,
I followed the solution guide also, but not able to get it work.
In the lab workbook it is dome on a Gigabit ethernet sub interface where as
I am using normal ethernet sub-interface. Will this be of any
implications?.
