Etherchannel Interface - L2 & L3 combined operation

Does anyone know how to allow L2 & L3 combined operation across an
Ether-channel that is being used for trunking on the 3550's? Also how do
you verify in show output?

            3550-1 (po1) <-> (po1) 3550-2 ---- Also I'm using PAGP
currently if that makes a difference
