Q. Does the Cisco 2800 series integrated services router support a T3/E3
interface?
A. The NM-1T3E3 is supported on the Cisco 2811, Cisco 2821 and Cisco 2851
platforms. This module will provide customers with a connectivity option for
a DS-3 interface, but only at sub-line rates. As you see in the table above,
the Cisco 2800 series is designed to be muli-T1/E1 routers, not DS3 routers.
While some customers may achieve line rate or near line rate on a DS3 with
no services, the addition of common services such as ACLs, QOS and IPSEC may
cause customer satisfaction issues. The recommended platform for T3/E3
connectivity is the Cisco 3800 series integrated services router.

I don't have the T3 in them, but tested with Smartbits passing traffic
between the GE interfaces and here are some results:
Mb/s Packet Size CPUUtil
20 64-byte 90%
34 100-byte 90%
500 1500-byte 90%
Now, this is straight L3 to L3 interface, basic config. The router could
push
bit higher than these numbers running up to 100% but it could give you an
idea of what to expect. It would seem for "typical" internet traffic you'd
have no issue as far as performance.
