Sergej,

Actually, I'm not surprised. As you know, Cisco has been beefing up it's
portfolio of security products for a while and considers Security and VOIP
the new paths for future revenue and earnings growth. By adding these new
technologies to the ccie requirements, Cisco is also greatly increasing its
salesforce for these new products.

I wouldn't be surprised if, in a few months, Cisco makes another
announcement which adds NAC to the list of technologies Security CCIE's have
to master.

Like all changes to the lab requirements, this is a double edge sword. On
the one hand, your work load just went up. But, on the other hand, the value
of your knowledge increased in lockstep with your new workload.

So, if you're real close to being sufficiently prepared for the lab, then
just hunker down and take the lab before May 31st.

If you're not close enough to do that, start downloading the Config Guide
for CS-Mars and the other new products and get to work. Or, check out the
training that's available to get you up to speed faster.

Did anyone else receive such a surprising e-mail from CCIE team?
