One thing that definitely should be checked now is the backplane
connector on the 6513. I have seen at least 4 chassis need to be RMA'd
due to bent pins from cards being accidentally inserted incorrectly.
Unfortunately, there is not much room for error....it only takes one
time.
...my two cents
John

Glad you figured it out. Cat6500s can be a bit tricky sometimes. It
gets
really fun when you have an MSFC card in there, and you have to go back
and
forth between the two consoles...and the MSFC looses it's OS! :)

Hi Brad,
Thanks for the mail, you were quiet right, the boot loader variable was
missing and the switch processor config-register was wrong.
Initially a 48 port 10/100 line card was not inserted correctly which
sent
the cat into overdrive.
Thanks for your input though, I appreciate it,
Thanks Brad,
Best Wishes,
Malcolm

Malcom,
hi! Couple things, first, what supervisor engine? Second, what flavor
of
IOS? (Also, Im assuming you checked the config registers?) Do you have
another Cat6500 around?
thanks,
Brad Ellis
