What version of IOS are you using? I have seen some versions where if
the subnet mask in the "router eigrp" mode does not match the mask on
the interface, you will get this message. In you case,
interface Serial0/0
ip address 54.1.2.6 255.255.255.0
router eigrp 10
network 54.1.2.6 0.0.0.0
try changing network 54.1.2.6 0.0.0.0 to network 54.1.2.6 0.0.0.255
