From my experience BGP is not actually required.
Supposedly MSDP relies on BGP for RPF check, but I've
gotten this to work over OSPF. So, MSDP must be using
RIB for RPF check.
Also, don't forget with Anycast-RP, you still need to
set the RP either static or via Auto-RP or BSR.
