yes it is typo, actually teh command is there

interface Virtual-Template1
 no ip address
 ppp multilink
 ppp multilink group 1
!

and by the way the error I get is as below and it is shown only on Router R3
not on R5 or R4
the IOS on all teh three wouters are the same Version 12.3(14)T4 all the
three routers are 3640
