Did you try to do a TFTP download (tftpdnld) from ROMMON? Most of the
messages below are standard error messages when installing a new flash
module. The "bus error" message usually means some sort of problem but
I would still attempt to download the IOS from ROMMON.

Also make sure that you load a newer IOS version on the router as older
IOS versions will not see the flash once they have booted up.

Lastly you may try to boot the router from ROMMON but not write the
image the flash ((tftpdnld -r) and see if the flash module can be
detected after bootup. Below is an example:

If you still have problems with the flash module let me know. I'll be
in the office later tonight and I'll look at the part number of some of
the 32meg flash modules I have. As you can tell I lead a very exciting
life ;-) IOS + CCIE + Saturday Night = one heck of a good time ;-)

Subject: 32 MB Flash for Cisco 2620

Hi, guys,

I bought a new 32 MB flash with MEM2620-32FSBOOT for cisco 2620 router.
After put them on, the bootrom shows version 12.2(10r)1, but system
cannot
detect flash. The information printed on flash is "Intel DA28F640
J5A150
A3387544 Flash". I searched the part number "DA28F640" and get one
result
says "Intel Flash EEPROM 64M 4Mx16/8Mx8". Does it mean this is 64M
flash?

Can somebody please verify the chip for me before i call the seller for
sending the wrong part??
