I have noticed the same thing when utilizing CEF with certain IOS
versions.

Subject: Does mcache break mulicast?

Here's another mystery I've encountered. Rather than draw out a long
convulted diagram I basically wanted to know if any of you fellow group
members have noticed that sometimes multicast will not work with
mroute-cache enabled.

I have seen a few scenarios where I ping a multicast receiver and the
first
packet replies but the rest all fail. I noticed, however, that when I
disabled mroute-cache on the routers all pings then succeed.

Has anyone had a similar experience or can explain situations where
mroute-cache will cause this to break?
