Hi Dave,
Is it from a lab's question requirement or real production need? If
it's for latter, you can consider implement crontab with "expect"
scripting. This combination can do alot more than just port shutdown
and no shut.
I have a script running each hour to collect 150-200 switches's
mac-address-table for fast incoming port lookup.
