One more thing,

Of course, you also would first have typed in
"config-register 0x2101" in config mode, to enable you switch
the flash to read/write mode.

Then switch to 0x2102 after reload to get rid of the "boot" in the
"router(boot)>" prompt that you get when the register is 0x2101.

Joshua,

Try this trick that helped me to load same image on a c2500's 16MB flash.

Use "erase /no-squeeze-reserve-space flash:" even if the flash is empty.
then "copy tftp flash".

After you've typed in the ip and file name as usual, it asks you again if
you
want to confirm to erase. This time reject by typing in <esc> or any key
other than the <enter> key.

Adding the "/n" option to the "erase" command frees up extra space on
the flash, which the ordinary "erase" command doesn't.

Charles,

Thank you!

As i said, i tftp IOS to RAM no to Flash because i only have 16 MB flash,
which is not big enough to hold 12.2(17) T image. So, everytime reload the
router, i have to reload it to the RAM. The way i can figure out is
=> add "boot system tftp <*image name*>.bin <*tftp server ip address*> into
to the config file
=> erase start file
=> copy tftp start (load config file to startup file)
=> reload router

Thanks,

Josh
