Hola a todos,
I know that the no-prepend option removes the as number of the AS configured
in the command as a parameter, before advertising it to my external
neighbors, but in doc cd says that:
Configures the router * to not prepend * the local autonomous system number
to any routes *received* from an external peer.
My question is why the routes received by external peers?? (Maybe is a
problem with my English translation) but IMHO, I think that should say: That
configures the router to not prepend the local AS number to any route
advertised to external peers.
Regards
Victor.

I think it is used to change your AS number to another local-as number to
peer with external neigbor, by default, the external routes coming from this
peer will be prepened by this local-as number which is differnet from the
original as number. No-prepend will not be added to the external routes
coming from this neighbor, it will only seen as coming from the
remote-as followed by the path for this network unlike coming prepended with
the local-as we are using with this neigbor then the remote-as number then
the as-path for this netwrok.
We will see the show ip bgp x-network as:
x-network local-as ---- remote-as --- as-path (prepend)
x-network remote-as ---- as-path (no-prepend)
