Hi,
I would strongly suggest "IP Telephony Self-Study, CISCO QOS Exam
Certification Guide, Second Edition" by Wendell Odom and Michael J.
Cavanaugh. The ISBN is 1-58720-124-0.
I've got a couple of the "IOS Documentation" books on QOS and didn't
have a really good understanding after reading them. The Wendell Odom
book really explains things well and makes things easier to understand.
It doesn't really talk about RSVP, and it focuses on using the MQC
(which is the direction Cisco seems to be going anyways). If you want
to learn the "older-style" of doing things (mostly non class-based),
then after reading the Wendell Odom book, check out the appendexis on
the CD in the back of the book, as well as some of the "documentation"
type books. Once you understand the theory better, then the
"documentation" style books will likely make more sense.
Surely there are many other good books to start learning QoS, these are
the ones I have experience with, so the Wendell Odom book has my vote!
HTH,
Curt

Subject: QoS
Hi all...
I am going to start learning QoS for cisco routers and switches. My
company is now planning to start up offering both VoIP and VoD to our
customer. I need to know where is a good point to start and what books
are good starting point. I do not have any specially QoS experience from
earlier
Thanks in advance
JP
