I will have to disagree here. The Telecommunications companies are going
through major changes in their networks and in the way they do business.
I bet that most of the laid off people does not have a clue about MPLS or
very little knowledge on MPLS and may have lots of experiences with
Frame-Relay and ATM. The majority will not be your direct competition on
Service Provider jobs. Also there are requirements for VoIP and Security in
the SP arena as well.
