The 3800 is very similar to the 2800. The only real difference is the
memory capacity. The 2800 maxes at 768mb while the 3800 does a full gig.
The 3800 has a faster processor and has 3 NME slots. The 2811 to 2851 have
1 and the 2801 does not have the NM slot. Also, in order to use the 24port
switch card, you need a 2821 or up. Other than that, they are pretty much
identical, just have more slots.

What specific features might there be on a 3825 that would not be on
something like the 2800's ?

Sameer,
We will be using 3640's in our rental racks for R6. There are
not any tasks that will require the 3825 specifically. "Possibly"
around August 2006 we will swap them out with 3825s so that we can test
on any 3825 specific features.

Brians,
I see that you guys are using Cisco 3825 128/24 Code 12.4(5) for R6.
What can I use instead of 3825? What are my other options with which i
can do all my labs but avoid the expensive 3825. How about some thing in
2600 or 3600 series.
Here's what i have
R1/R2 - 2621
R3/R4/R5 - 3640
R6 - ?
BB1/BB2/BB3 - 2501
FR - 4500
thanks,
Manoj.
