This e-mail might fall into the category of "No Sh*t Sherlock" (in other
words OBVIOUS), but I thought I had better share it.

I just got my CCIE R/S Advanced Technologies Class-on-Demand 3.0 series
update. First, let me say that these class sessions are incredible! Brian
and Brian educate and motivate you tremendously for the lab! In fact, the
only real issue is, if you take the lab and fail, you feel rather dense
because you possess these recordings.

Anyway - I just happened to have a rack rental today while I was going
through one of the COD chapters. It led me to start trying what Brian M was
sharing with me about IPv6 on live equipment.

Now I am hooked! I feel like those kids that accidentally mixed their
chocolate and peanut butter together years ago. I plan to use the CODs
whenever possible in conjunction with a rack rental. For those of you with
your own practice racks...stop reading this immediately! I am consumed with
hatred and jealousy of you.

Here will be my approach to using the CODs whenever possible:

1. Watch a section of class. For example - OSPF v3 in an NBMA environment.

2. Once the Brians are done teaching and demonstrating the topic - PAUSE the
recording.

3. Create a diagram of a practice topology for the topic just like they
did.

4. Configure the gear to ensure I fully understand and can implement the
particular technology.

Something I am also doing (just like I do with the workbook), I am trying to
take my practice beyond what they did in the class.....I figure if I get
stuck, I can always turn to GroupStudy!

I have been tempted to take notes on these class sessions but now I
believe this to be a much better approach.

Well anyways - please forgive if this is a no-brainer...just thought I would
share this idea in case it can help someone get the most out of this
valuable resource.
