This confusion can be cleared by understanding the difference between 'byte'
and 'bit'.
Everyone knows that 8 bits equal a byte...
But the one thing we need to pay attention is that Byte is the measure of
the volume of Data and Bits per sec (Or KB/sec etc) is the measure of the
rate at which data flows.
So, whenever you see something per second or per minute etc, this is likely
going to be a multiple of 1000, likewise, when you see a byte count, think
in terms of a multiple of 8
