In
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios123/123tcr/123ti
p3r/ip3_i1gt.htm#wp1076237

Indicates that the command is

ip multicast rate-limit {in | out} [video | whiteboard] [group-list
access-list] [source-list access-list] kbps

Where kbps is Transmission rate (in kbps). Any packets sent at greater than
this value are silently discarded. The default value is 0, meaning that no
traffic is permitted. Therefore, set this to a positive value.
Also in
ftp://ftpeng.cisco.com/ipmulticast/config-notes/multicast-rate-limit.txt

The <limit> argument selects the rate in kilobits/second to which matching
traffic will be limited. The default value for <limit> is 0, in which case
all ip multicast packets matched by this command will be dropped

Also In Developing IP Multicast Networks CiscoPress Book indicates.
For example, the router configuration in Example 16-1 could be used to limit
the amount of multicast, traffic sent on a T1 line to roughly 70% of the
total available bandwidth or approximately 1 Mbps. Using ip multicast
rate-limit out 1000

**

I always think that Math is correct so:

One kilobit per second (Kbps) equals 1000 bits per second (bps). Kbps is
also written as "kbps". Likewise, one megabit per second (Mbps) equals one
million bps and one Gigabit equals one billion bps.

I think that the second option would be the correct

Int Type ##
 ip multicast rate-limit in 1000

Hi Group,

A question on multicast rate-limit

If the question says rate limit all multicast on
interface to 1Mb what should be the rate configured

ip multicast rate-limit in 1000

or

ip multicast rate-limit in 1024

Kind Regards,

Sholy
