Hey there John,

Whenever I do this, I like it to be as "realistic" as possible.

I tend to make the bandwidth equal to where ever it came from, eg. if it
came from a 2 meg link, then 2000, etc, etc. I put in some delay,
usually anything between 10 and 50, reliability I shove in 255, load I
tend to put in about 10 (or check the interface for it's usage) and the
MTU, I shove in 1500 (unless I'm doing something clever on the link).

I do it so that if there is some other routes coming into eigrp, then it
gives them a more realistic metric for reachability. ie, you could have:-

r1--ospf--r2--eigrp--r3--eigrp--r4--ospf--r5--ospf--r1

When put in with the same metrics (1,1,1,1,1) without doing any
fiddling, r3 would see r1 down both paths, equally, even though, it is
potentially quicker to pass to r2.
