To Loop or not to loop during the lab ?

I have a question regrding the lab exam.
Are we allowed to use loopbacks even though it's not explicitly stated ?
The reason I ask, it makes it easier to configure and troubleshooot.
Do I loose points or get it completely wrong if I use loopbacks even thought it's not required by the lab exam ?
