I would agree. I passed the lab and used primarily the IE practice labs to
prepare.

But, that said, if you can manage it, getting all 3 major workbooks, NMC and
IPExpert in addition to the IE workbook is your best bet.

You will learn a lot from each workbook and will benefit from the practice
of task interpretation.

I think for most people that know the technology, the biggest obstacle to
passing is correctly interpreting the task requirements. With just the
addition or absence of one word, the task requirements can be completely
different. And, the difference can be very subtle.

When you do the IE labs, I would suggest you do the first 5 labs - at least
twice before moving on to the next 5 labs. There's a huge volume of info in
the Solution Guide and just reading it once (at least, for me) wasn't nearly
enough). I think you'll be surprised by how much you won't know or remember
the 2nd time around with the same first 5 labs.

Also, the 2nd time you do the first 5 labs, after you complete a task or set
of tasks in a section, make sure you know the commands you need to use to
verify your configuration.

Knowing how to verify your config is just as important as knowing the
commands you need to implement any given task.

Also, if you're like me, you may want to focus on a particular technology
first. Although the workbook isn't designed to be used that way, there's
nothing to prevent you from doing just a given section in all 20 labs, for
example, switching or frame relay before going on and doing other sections
of each lab. In fact, I would recommend doing just that. Before trying to
complete each individual lab, pick a layer 2 technology and make sure you
master that technology first.

After you've mastered each L2 technology, then go back and master the IGP's.

I would say the IE workbooks are comparable to the lab

Subject: A general question

Friends,

I've being working the IE workbooks, and I find them really challenging.
I wonder:

Who those exercises compare to the actual test, in terms of:

1- Complexity
2- Time needed to solve it
3- Number of subjects evaluated on a single exam

Thanks for your support,
Roberto
