RE: Isis network point-to-point issue

That is what I am seeing. All of the documentation I was finding stated a
broadcast network.

The command is available on my ethernet interfaces.

I was wondering why it is available on the 7500 serial interface and not the
2600/3600 serial interfaces.

They are all non-broadcast, are they not?

Thank you for the input.

Tony,

Some IOS versions do not have the ISIS net point-to-point option.

In fact, my IOS versions on the 3600 series routers (12.3) tell me that
point-to-point network types for ISIS are only valid on broadcast media.

Hmmmm.... Now why would I want to use point-to-point network types on
broadcast media?

OK. I know. But its still lame.

HTH,

Andy

Has anybody else come across this?

I am configuring ISIS between two router across a frame relay network.

I am configuring the physical serial interface of each router.

Now I want to issue the command isis network point-to-point.

On my 7500 router, this command will take.

On my 3600 or 2600 router, this command is not available.

They are all running the same version of IOS.

Any suggestions?

Is there something different about the 2600/3600 serial interfaces
compared to the 7500 serial interface with regards to isis?
