the example below is pretty much accurate. just memorize it just in case
the only additional info i would add is that:
in the statement "atm pvc 1 0 100 aal5snap" the 1 corresponds to the vc
in the static protocol mapping "protocol ip 1.2.3.4 atm-vc 1 broadcast"
and the 0/100 is just the pvc you are using (i believe this is correct).

  atm 0/0/0
> ip address 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0
> map-group to-remote-peer
> atm pvc 1 0 100 aal5snap
> !
> map-list to-remote-peer
> protocol ip 192.168.1.254 atm-vc 1 broadcast
