I tried the below on 12.2.15T15

username c privilege 15 password 0 c
username c autocommand terminal escape Z
!
interface Loopback0
 ip address 1.1.1.1 255.255.255.255
!
line vty 0 4
 login local
 autocommand-options nohangup
!

It works fine for me when I do a "Shift z x" within a telnet .
