RE: multicast rate-limitDave that's as maybe, but please refer to the Doc Cd
on this matter:-
Note If a multicast storm control suppression level is exceeded on a switch,
all traffic (multicast, unicast, and broadcast) is blocked until the
multicast traffic rate drops below the threshold. Only spanning-tree packets
are passed. If the broadcast or the unicast storm control suppression level
is exceeded, only that type of traffic is blocked until the rate drops below
the threshold.

By using
Storm-control Unicast you will limit unicast
Storm-control broadcast you will limit broadcast
Storm-control multicast, and you will limit the lot (based upon Mcast
threshold)
This is a really important point that can you really trip you up

There are separate options under the storm control for either unicast,
broadcast or multicast.

Point to note with storm control Multicast. When the threshold for
Mcast is
exceeded then all Unicast, broadcast and Mcast is blocked. Depending on
the
question, then storm-control multicast may not be a good option

You also may want to keep the storm-control command in your backpocket,
when
needed to limit traffic types on your switch ports. Just an additional
thought.

Hi Group,
Does any one know any good link for "ip multicast rate-limit". I just
want
to see some configuration example.
Thanks in advance
