It creates another span session - rather than one that may already exist.

The syntax for this command has changed for new CatOS devices - you now
specify them by session numbers:

asHEOC1> (enable) set span 1 4/5 ?
both Both receiving and transmitting traffic
filter Apply filter to vlan
inpkts Enable/disable destination port incoming
packets
learning Enable/disable MAC address learning
multicast Enable/disable multicast traffic
rx Receiving traffic
session Session Number for Span Session
tx Transmitting traffic
<cr>

  Hi group,

could someone tell me the meaning of the option " create " in the
  following command:

  set span {src_mod/src_ports | src_vlans | sc0} {dest_mod/dest_port} [rx |
  tx | both] [inpkts
  {enable | disable}] [learning {enable | disable}] [multicast {enable |
  disable}]
  [filter vlans...] [create]

In the CCO there is a very cryptic explanation:.

  Thanks in advance
