VRRP configuration

Hi group,

It has been asked many times before in the forum but I want to add
something more to it with this post.
So, the question usually was what is the difference between VRRP and HSRP.

Now, I've seen all the answers saying that it is basically the same, but
one is cisco proprietary and the other is industry standard.

But, let's see if there are differences configuration wise. From CCO
I've seen the following for VRRP:

"Because the virtual router uses the IP address of the physical Ethernet
interface of Router A, Router A assumes the role of the master virtual
router and is also known as the IP address owner. As the master virtual
router, Router A controls the IP address of the virtual router and is
responsible for forwarding packets sent to this IP address. Clients 1
through 3 are configured with the default gateway IP address of 10.0.0.1."

In HSRP as I've seen you can not configure the stanby ip to be the
actual ip configured on one of the routers.
On the other hand in VRRP another ip can be used (like HSRP), but also
we can use the actual ip configured on the interface making the router
the "master virtual router".

So, is this the only difference if we watch it in the configuration
perspective?

And more specifically if we are asked to configure RouterA' to be
preferred, should VRRP master virtual router be implied or anyone would
be ok?

TIA

Varthis
