 Hi Group,
Please forgive me for my english and drawing.:)

Yesterday night I did one lab from Solie-I LAB-25 chapter 12 OSPF *OSPF
Multiple Area Routing, Route Redistribution and

SummarizationPart I,

figure I am simulating it here ,
OSPFAS-2001-A-0---R1-EIGRP AS-2001-R2---EIGRP-2001-int lo0
10.1.16.1/24<http://10.1.16.1/24>
 R2-int lo1 10.1.17.1/24 <http://10.1.17.1/24>

R2-int lo2 10.1.18.1/24 <http://10.1.18.1/24>

LAB Objective :-

configure summary route to advertise all the 3 routes for the int
lo0,lo1,lo2 as one route into OSPF or Aggregate as one route into OSPF
Network from router R2 .
*

To achieve my Goal I have 2 Ways

1) To summarise these routes from router R2 by giving this command on the
interface mode* IP summary-address eigrp 2001 10.1.16.0 <http://10.1.16.0>
255.255.255.252 <http://255.255.255.252> *and advertise it to R1 as summary
route 10.1.16.0 <http://10.1.16.0> NM-255.255.252.0

2) To summarise the routes on R1 router in the router OSPF config mode by
giving the command *summary-address 10.1.16.0 <http://10.1.16.0>
255.255.255.252 <http://255.255.255.252>
*

I chose the First option and configured the summary address on the interface
connecting to router R1 everything went fine when I check the config of the
LAB it was configured by option 2.

So my question to my highly respectfull group member that if we get caught
in such situation in real LAB that will be for sure which method should I
select or we all will select.

Regards,

Anis
