RE: Internet Router

I'm currently running a 2851 series router with Full BGP internet routes
(166,000ish) with 256 meg of memory. The memory was really scary for me,
personally I wouldn't be doing any less than 768 if I had the say, especially
with soft reconfig enabled. Anyway, in your case, with a default route, the
3845 is overkill unless (as mentioned before) redudant power is an necessity.
Redundant power in the 3845 is internal, it's also available all the way down
to a 2811 with an external RPS. Performance on the 2851 for me has been pretty
good, and it's been stable. I'm also running the BGP over a L2TP tunnel, for
whats it's worth.

Thanks,

Nick Griffin

Bill,

If you just doing a default router, a 3600, 3700, 3800 series is just fine.
A 2600 can even handle it.

I have a 3725 and 7206 both doing BGP with two different providers and they
have been behaving well.
