That is correct. Cisco changed the recertification rules that you had
to wait at least 6 months before taking the written exam again for it to
count for recertification.

I could be wrong, but I thought it was changed where there was a
mandatory
6-month window. So that way when recertifying, you coulnd't take the
test
on your last day of the 2-year mark, then again the next day and get
4-years
at once.

Hi Guys,
 
I just spent the last hour on the Cisco CCIE site trying to verify the
above
statement but couldn't find anything to confirm or contradict the above
statement.  To me, it sounds like passing the written extends your ccie
for
2 from the date you take the written, not from date your ccie expires.
Assuming Jay is correct, I know for me the best thing to do would be to
take
the written in the next few weeks.  If I wait a even just a few months,
I
know many of the details I now know inside out will surely fade away.
