<pep talk>
First off what you should know is that the road to passing the
CCIE lab exam is a marathon, not a sprint. If your goal is the pursuit
of knowledge then passing the CCIE lab exam will be a byproduct of your
understanding networking technologies in depth. Even then once you pass
the lab exam your learning will not stop. I've learned much more since
I've passed my lab exam than before.

Now in regards to your question about study material, don't
stress. Brian Dennis and I are already in the process of updating all
of our self-paced and instructor-led product lines, and will be
announcing our projected release schedule shortly. All of our
customers, including yourself, can be assured that your investment with
us is protected. Workbook customers will have the option to purchase
upgrades for minimal costs to cover production and shipping. For
electronic subscription based products such as our CCIE R&S Advanced
Technologies Class-on-Demand we will be extending the subscription term
for all users from 12 to 24 months at no charge. Once the new
curriculum is available you will have immediate access to it. If you
have other questions or concerns about these matters feel free to
contact me offlist.
Now in the meantime I would recommend to stay committed to your
current study schedule. If you want to omit topics such as ISDN, ATM,
IS-IS, or DLSw+ from your preparation feel free to do so and replace
them with comparable topics such as Frame Relay or OSPF. Be assured
that learning new things is never a waste, even if it's not going to be
covered on your particular lab exam. Besides, there's no guarantee you
would get all the topics within the current scope even if you took the
exam today. If you didn't get Multicast or IPv6 on an exam today would
you feel cheated that you wasted preparation time on them? I'd hope
not.
Keep your hopes up and your nose in the books and you'll get there!
