Here is a good tip:-
If you use a Linux machine you can run a free version of tacacs+ called
tac-plus, straight forward to implement and if you use the "apt-get"
tool it will install and configure it for you.

You can get Linux free from many places, I personally use Knoppix
(www.knoppix.net).
You can also use this to run freeradius (www.freeradius.org) - good for
testing/implementing 802.1x and also net-snmp (www.net-snmp.net) - a
monstrously powerful SNMP toolset.
