Should have been more clear. Needs to match an address locally on the term
server.

ok, i don't understand the ip address part of this. take for example the
racks that you rent online. when you log into the terminal server you do a
reverse telnet into say R1. R1 has a completely blank configuration (i
believe), so how can you assign the ip address of the ethernet interface or
the loopback interface.....and why would you assign this when you are
initiating the session through the async ports where (i would think) ip
addresses have no meaning?? :-0
