Although id agree it's a bad practice to have address 172.16.26.49
255.255.50.0

But this will work, this gives you 52,736 addresses range's are
172.16.18.0 - 172.16.223.255

it might be error, they likely meant 172.16.26.49/255.255.0.0

255.255.50.0 is a bad subnet mask.
