Amit,
Not that many people will be able to complete current CXP practice labs on
their own. Those who can don't really need any training - they can go and
claim their number. Current labs are usually done in 3 days each x 12 hours a
day. Instructors are right there for you - when you get stuck (I did get stuck
on almost every single question) - instructor takes you to a drawing board and
explains the concept. These explanations are now burned in my mind (Thanks
Bacho!). I don't see any value in taking a mock lab - if the lab is too hard,
then you become discouraged and you get a headache and you retain nothing. If
the lab is too easy - then it does not make any sense to take it in the first
place. And after the lab is over they will only spend an hour with you - one
hour is nothing.
This is what worked for me - instructor constantly checks your progress as you
work through the lab. You get the concept right the first time. If something
is incorrect he will catch and correct it. After the lab is done - you sit
down with your instructor and check/analyze the solution (usually takes about
3 hours).
Mock lab is better than nothing, but its not a substitution for a quality
instructor led lab training (imho)
Hope this helps!
