Hi guys,
This is a good one (or evil one depending on your perspective).
-------- f/r s0 RTR-X bri 0 ---------------
RTR-X isn't running any IGP. Instead it has 2 default static floating
routes.
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 x.x.x.x
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 y.y.y.y 2
The first static points out the serial int (f/r).
The 2nd static points out the bri int and should only be used if the f/r
link is down.
Well, I just learned that if the f/r int isn't a multipoint sub (or maybe
the physical int itself), this won't work.
I can't speak for the rest of you guys, but this is not the type of thing I
would normally remember for more than a few days.
Now, suppose I forgot this little detail, how would I go about
troubleshooting this if I configured a p2p sub or the phy int?
TIA, Tim
