In task 7.3-7.4, on R3, multicast traffic is converted into directed broadcast
129.1.23.255 to let through none
multicast domain and then R2 reconverts these broadcast packets to multicast
225.25.25.25. As far as I know, directed broadcast packets
are treated nomally like other unicast packets, so why is R3 has ip
directed-broadcast configured on s1/3? I also note that in 2 cases of using
ip multicast helper-map ( broadcast to multicast to support applications that
use broadcast address & multicast to broadcast to let multicast traffic
through non muticast domain), the second one does not require any ip
derected-broadcast command in the configuration. Is that right?

Any feedback would be appreciated

Jim
