hi San, how could be "RPF Failed" when 132.1.26.2 is the only next-hop to RP?

  Subject: IE WB lab2:7.6: Multicast could not get it correct

  Hi,

  I am working on Multicast section of Lab2.

  -----Serial-R2-(Eth)-------(eth2/0.26)R6(eth2/0.6)

  R2 is the RP
  R6 is the source for 228.28.28.28
  SW1 is the Receiver for multicast. (located behind R2).

  Problem:
  ----------
  I am getting an error "RPF failed" ? How to correct this config. I
  have configured as in solution. May be i am missing something.

  I assume the problem is because when i ping from R6, it considers
  source of the ping as Ethernet (ip pim spare-mode) & does not put that
  interface in outgoing list.

  Rack1R6#ping 228.28.28.28

  Type escape sequence to abort.
  Sending 1, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 228.28.28.28, timeout is 2 seconds:
  *Apr 15 00:57:19.666: IP(0): s=132.1.6.6 (FastEthernet2/0.6)
  d=228.28.28.28 id=194, prot=1, len=114(100), RPF lookup failed for
  source or RP
  *Apr 15 00:57:19.666: IP(0): s=132.1.26.6 (FastEthernet2/0.26)
  d=228.28.28.28 id=194, prot=1, len=114(100), RPF lookup failed for
  source or RP.
