I've done Avaya integration with CCM. What version of Avaya are you
running? Are you licensed for Q.SIG on the Avaya? Versions prior to
communications manager 2.0 it was an extra cost license. You don't need
Q.SIG for CLID and CNID though. Q.SIG does give you things like MWI between
systems for centralized voicemail and path replacement to prevent hairpinned
calls. You can get name and number with standard PRI signaling. You also
mentioned that you want to use DCS. That's Avaya proprietary and won't work
to a CCM. You will need either standard PRI signaling like NI-2 or 5ESS or
Q.SIG for the supplementary services that I mentioned above.
Have you looked at the PBX interop portal:
http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/779/largeent/avvid/inter_operability/
One you get in, select CallManager and then select Avaya as the PBX
manufacture and you will find some nice whitepapers which even show screen
shots from the Avaya and CCM config along with a nice description of the
features you will get.
Good luck,
Joe

Subject: Avaya vs Cisco Caller ID
Sorry to use this forum for this question.
But does anyone have any experience with integrating Call Managers with a
Avaya infrastructure. I'm having a problem getting Caller ID (Transparency)
to work.
We have old csu / dsu's between sights and we're using DCS signaling. Trying
to transport calls from those sites thru a qsig pri to a 3725 router. Kind
of desperate
This is a make/break decision for us.
Thanks,
Elliott
