But, what's the point of setting the clock on the ntp server if when the
router is rebooted at the end of the lab, the clock is reset anyway?
Setting the clock only makes sense if the router has a hardware clock which
I don't think the routers in the lab have. Am I mistaken on this point?

Most times(Lab enviromnent)you would be getting time
information from an NTP server,which u do not get to
configure.If the ntp server is a Cisco Router then
you must set the clock on the Cisco router.
