HI all,
I thought I knew this, but I've come across two examples which
contradict each other. If you need to limit traps to a host you use
the snmp-server host command like so:
snmp-server host 10.10.10.10 CISCO bgp
My understanding was that you also needed to enable these traps with the
snmp-server enable traps bgp command. I've recently seen an example
where this was missing. Would any traps be sent?
I also understood that the host command superceded the enable command.
So if you enable all traps, but then included the snmp-server host
command as above, that host would only receive those traps.
A more general question: Is there a good freeware Windows SNMP
management application to test this?
Thanks
Roy
