From what I've learnt so far on my studies, I'm not going to learn how
to pass the lab from any amount of books. Sure, they can help, but I
think the best study I do is when I'm working on equipment.
Notes are useful for me, but only as a reinforcement of topics I've
covered in my lab. I also prefer to make my own note, rather than rely
on others.
Having said that, there are tips to be picked up on strategy and lab
technique and 40 dollars isn't that expensive. But I could go on
buying books for ever, I'd rather read and understand the ones I have
and spend more time on the equipment. I just don't think there are any
shortcuts to understanding the material.
