Yes, spaces are required before either the hyphen or comma in the range
command. Commas are also useful when you want to include multiple interface
types in the range command. For example, you can use the following range
command to make the same configuration command changes to interfaces
fa0/1-12, 15 and g0/1-2 (i.e., changing the switchport mode from desirable
to trunk):

interface range fastethernet 0/1 - 12 , fastethernet 0/15 , gigabitethernet
0/1 - 2
