try it urself....you can see that in show runn and debug output...

I always observed, if you are using default, it wouldn't appear in your
config, but in this case if you type ppp chat wait, it would appear...

more technical way is to look at debug output, where you will see the
difference this command makes....

To specify that the router will not authenticate to a peer requesting
Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol (CHAP) authentication until
after the peer has authenticated itself to the router, use the ppp chap wait
command in interface configuration mode. To allow the router to respond
immediately to an authentication challenge, use the no form of this command.

ppp chap wait secret
no ppp chap wait secret

Syntax Description
secret The secret used to compute the response value for any CHAP challenge
from an unknown peer.
