Also available on FreeBSD. If you are using FreeBSD 5.3 or newer, automatic
vlan's are supported by using subinterface creations.

$ ifconfig fxp0.20 create

Automatically creates 802.1Q vlan #20 on interface fxp0.20, bound to fxp0. :)
