Arthur,
You should be ok with the Sup, it should just sync ok, but make sure they
are of the same spec and part number. Be wary of the MSFC though, even
though the Sup will be in standby, the MSFC will still be active.

Subject: OT: Cisco 6509 switch
Got a quick question. I have a Cisco 6509 switch with redundant Sup.
engine and each with MSFC module. Today, I just got a RMA replacement for
the secondary Sup. module and MSFC. If I pop it into the second slot of
6509 switch, is it gonna cause any traffic disruption when it sync up with
the first Sup.? Cisco engineer told me that it won't. But I'd like to be
very cautious about it. Is there any gotcha I need to be aware of? Any
comment is appreciated. Please reply to my email directly. Thanks a lot.
