I'm also interested in this. The way we got around it was to copy the .bin
file to the root directory of every stack member's flash (addressing them
using flash1: flash2: flash3: and so on) and deleting the directory
containing the contents of the original tar file (using delete /r /f).
Ugly, and time consuming.
