If you're asking if you can update the whole stack at once, I think the
answer is no, you need the .tar file. You can update each of the switches
individually, but it's pretty tedious. You have to remove most of the old
files, rename the directory and copy all of the individual files up. The
.bin file is just the image, and is enough to get the switch loaded, but
does not include any of the web interface files.

I'm assuming you're using xmodem because you don't have a valid image. In
that case, I don't think you can even use the .tar file. I would upload the
.bin file, get the switch loaded, then update with the .tar file. I don't
know if you can do this on a 3750, but on some routers you can upload an
image straight to RAM and run the image, essentially booting from xmodem.
Upload the .bin file to RAM, set an IP address, then upload the .tar file
to flash. Since the newer switches have directory structure rather than
just an image, doing this might save some time messing around with
directories and files in flash.
